History 12 -- Research and Database Tips for Finding Articles

When doing research for this assignment, first watch these videos for how to find and access the databases and how to search for articles.  This will save you a lot of time!  Below you will find additional help for different topics in this class.  Scroll through to find help with a specific topic.

Also:  If you are searching in the library's databases or catalog from home or off-campus, be sure to log into My Portal first!  Otherwise you will not be able to access the articles.

Search Topics

Research Topic:  McCarthyism

You can also search the database JSTOR with these same keywords and get lots of good articles and access to eBooks.

Research Topic:  The Progressive Era

In the search box, depending on your topic, type:  "Progressive Era" and Eugenics, or "Progressive Era" and New York, or "Progressive Era" and California, or "Progressive Era" and Oregon, or "Progressive Era" and Wisconsin or "Progressive Era" and Tennessee
